Our young people, like our children, are not just the future of the Church, they are the Church. Throughout our history, young people have been joined by a committed team of volunteers. These volunteers consist of church members, some of whom were part of the youth group themselves and are now young adults, some who are parents of young people, and some who are occasionally part of the church staff. But always these are individuals who love young people, love to have fun, and love to participate in the social, emotional, and spiritual development of teenagers. All volunteers are vetted and must have a police record check before serving with these young people. Meetings, usually held twice a month, include a faith and values based lesson, opportunities to interact socially (games and snacks!), and occasions to serve others in the neighbourhood and community. Fall and spring retreat weekends have also been effective in developing and building relationships with God and each other.
